The winds are quite strong in eastern Oregon and especially through the gorge that separates the state from Washington state. There are literally hundreds of these wind turbines springing up like wild flowers out here.

The Strategic Air & Space Museum. Located in Eastern Nebraska along I-80 between Lincoln and Omaha. I highly recommend a visit here if you happen to be in the area. I "stole" this one from the museums web site. http://www.strategicairandspace.com/ It is such a cool place. Adult admission is quite reasonable, at this visit adult entry was $8.50 with discounts for children, seniors and active duty/retired military. There is plenty of parking including a lot dedicated for trucks and other large vehicles.

This is my all time favorite aircraft of WW-II. The B-17G "Flying Fortress". What a beautiful design. I had the honor of touring inside of one when it visited the Corvallis airport.

I apologize for the lighting in this one. I am still working on learning the different modes this camera has. The XF-85 was an experimental fighter aircraft that was supposed to hang below the wing of the BIG cold war bombers and would be dropped to fly and protect it's "host". You might be able to make out the hook on the nose of it.

I think that the air force may have "stolen" this one from the navy. Made by the Hughes aircraft company,this is the HU-16. I had amphibious capabilities.

It was a good day for picture taking! I was in Rapid City SD and was pretty bummed that I couldn't get up to Mt. Rushmore! On day 3 I got the call to go back into NW Wyoming and pick up some lumber. My luck took a drastic turn when I got there. Judge for yourself.

I took a wrong turn as I left the lumber mill and I am glad that I did. It allowed me to catch these 4 wild turkey's strutting along the roadside.

This is one of my favorite truck stops located in the mountains surrounding the Los Angeles area. I stay here when it is warm down in the basin because it is at an elevation of about 4,000 feet and will be at least 20 degrees cooler.
